In a World First ….
For the first time ever in wheelchair rugby, the organising committee have transformed the indoor artificial grass turf at the NZCIS into a wheelchair rugby competition space.
To achieve this transformation, the organizing committee relocating a portable basketball floor from Canterbury and over 600 sheets of plywood have transformed this into a fully accessible state-of- the-art high performance venue.
"The tournament was not only a celebration of top-tier wheelchair rugby but also of the strength and resilience of
the global community coming together. It showcased the best of sportsmanship and camaraderie, leaving us with fond memories and strong connections."
Paul Hunter, CEO Wheelchair Rugby Canada
